As is the tradition at 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron, the last parade of the year is always a time to let our hair down and have a bit of a laugh.
So on Friday 19th December, the last parade of the year, the cadets decided to put their thespian talents to the test by holding a ‘Sods Opera’ followed by a Pizza supper instead of having a normal training session.
So in the best of military traditions the Squadrons staff started the show off by going back in time to perform their comedic sketch, the Viking Warrior. Having totally lowered the standards and completely embarrassed themselves the staff called upon the cadets to play out their musical and comedy acts.
As if the performances weren’t embarrassing enough, the Sods Opera was followed by a Name the Baby in the photo competition.
Flt Lt Paul Hincks OIC 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron said, “All said and done everyone had a really good night, an excellent way for the Squadron to say a smashing goodbye to yet another successful year of Air Cadet activities”.
He added, “We’ve all worked extremely hard this year and I think everyone deserves a well earned rest over the Christmas & New Year holidays. So here’s hoping that all members of 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron have a brilliant time during the holiday. Hopefully we should all be suitably refreshed in time for the first parade of 2014 on Tuesday 6th January.”
