Members of staff and civilian committee members from 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron attended the annual Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing Ladies Night Dinner at The Tower Suite at Drayton Manor Park.
Once again the staff from 121 Squadron made a grand entrance to the event when they arrived champagne glasses in hand at the venue in their stretched limousine. It was definitely a step up from the minibus as a mode of Squadron transport.
The guest of honour was His Worship the Mayor of Daventry, Councillor Malcolm Adcock who has been very supportive of the Wing. During his speech he said “I have been most impressed with what I have seen tonight and on the Annual Cadet Sunday Parades held in Daventry each February. The young cadets are always so smart and well turned out. They are indeed a credit to our town and the wing”
After the dinner Wing Commander Pravin Ladwa Officer Commanding Warwickshire Wing presented Defence Council Letters of Appreciation (DCLA) to two members of the Wing in recognition of their outstanding service.
The evening itself was a great success an opportunity for the Squadrons staff and committee to get together socially and enjoy a night out together. Having left the function the staff from 121 continued to enjoy themselves as they journeyed home in the luxurious splendour of the Squadron limousine. The only disappointment came when the Squadron's civilian committee chairman turned down the request to replace the unit's minibus with a new limo. After such an excellent evening all that remains is for us to plan an even more spectacular mode of transport for next year.
