The Nuneaton based Air Cadet Field Gun Team had just completed their first field gun run in the main arena at the at the Nuneaton Armed Forced Day event when they were approached with a challenge they couldn’t refuse.
The opportunity to take on representatives of the Wasps in a game of seven-a-side touch rugby. The cadets literally jumped at the chance of taking on the Wasps and couldn’t wait to get started.
Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks Officer Commanding 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron said, “I think it true to say that the cadets had a brilliant game and considering the fact that the majority of the cadets had never plaid the game before, they certainly gave the Wasps a good run for their money as well as providing the audience with some thrilling main arena entertainment.”
“It was plain to see that every single one of the cadets who took part gave their all to the game and it was only too obvious as to how much fun they were having”
