Christmas spirited Nuneaton based Air Cadets have been packing bags in order to keep themselves and the Nuneaton & Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary flying high during 2014.
Following the highly successful Bag Pack by Cadets Staff & Committee members of 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron on Sunday 15 December the Squadron was approach by Sainsbury’s with a request to come along to the Nuneaton store on Sunday 22nd December to conduct another Bag Pack.
Another Christmas Bag Pack, an opportunity too good to miss, but this time it was going to be a bit different. Sainsbury’s management were so impressed by the Air Cadets who turned up the week before, that they specifically asked for the Air Cadets to come along to Pack Bags on one of their busiest days of the year and this time the Cadets had agreed to pack bags with part of the donations going to the Nuneaton & Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary which is the Sainsbury’s nominated charity for 2013.
Officer Commanding 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron, Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks said, “I am delighted to say that thanks to the generosity of Sainsbury’s customers, we have raised an outstanding Christmas bag packing collection of £965.55. This has been a seasonal Cracker of a bag Pack, extremely successful in every respect. Thanks to Sainsbury’s and their customers this has been a brilliant opportunity to further boost our own funds and help the animals from the Nuneaton & Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary, how good is that.”
He added, “The Squadrons Cadets, Staff and Civilian Committee members who took part did an excellent job packing the bags and worked well with the Sainsbury staff who were most friendly and helpful. We also received so many encouraging comments regarding the behaviour, turnout and helpfulness of the cadets from customers as they came through the checkouts. On behalf of the whole Squadron I would take this opportunity to thank Sainsbury’s for this wonderful bag packing opportunity and send a massive thank-you to the Sainsbury’s customers for their outstanding generosity. The money raised will go a long way to keep the Nuneaton based Air Cadets and the Nuneaton & Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary flying high during 2014”.
