Following their recent success at the Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing Band Competitions the young percussionists from the Nuneaton based Air Cadets were back in action representing the Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing in the Central & East Regional band competition.
Having won the percussion section element of the recent Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing band competition the drummers from 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron were once again doing their utmost to paradiddle their way to yet more silverware at the Central & East Regional competition at RAF Halton.
Officer Commanding 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron Flt Lt Paul Hincks said, "I am delighted to see our drummers together with Cadet Wain of 198 (Hinckley) Squadron representing the Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing at the regional competition again this year. What's even more pleasing is that it's the cadets themselves who worked so hard together to arrange the routine and train to perfect their performance. They did really well to win the Wing competition which put us through to the regional championships, sadly, despite an excellent performance at RAF Halton they were unable to repeat their success when they competed at regional level. I must also take this opportunity to commend F/Sgt Carrington our solo bugler for his rendition of The Last Post in the solo bugle section of the competition.”
