The Air Cadet Media Communications team from 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron scooped three First Place competition Awards during the Central & East Regional Field Day at Royal Air Force Wittering.
Against stiff opposition from Squadrons from all six Wings within the Region, the Nuneaton based Squadron won the Regional Media Communications competition, which is based on the unit's participation in public events and media activity during the previous 12 month period.
Keen photographers, Cadet Flight Sergeant Sasha Dowdall and Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks from Nuneaton also managed to win both the Cadet and Staff sections of the photographic competition, which was based on a portfolio of three photographs depicting, a church parade and the support given to the cadets by both Civilian Committee Members and Parents.
Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks, Media Communications Officer for 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron said, “I am delighted that we have managed to win this years Regional Photographic and Media Communications competitions . We've been taking part in the regional media competition since it started five years ago, with some success, having previously attained third and even second placing, unfortunately the top spot always eluded us, until now! Our performance in this competition is attributable to everyone on the Squadron, not just those who write the articles and maintain the website. Successful PR is a good measure of the performance of an active Squadron which offers its cadets a wide range of activities and gets involved in local community events”.
