Cadets from 121 Squadron and Anker Radio joined forces to support the 2016 Poppy Appeal.
Following the successful teamwork shown by the Nuneaton Air Cadets the Anker Radio crew during the launch of the Nuneaton 2016 Poppy Appeal, Air Cadets Cpl Paige Eaves, Bohdan Mandziuk and Flt Lt Paul Hincks were invited to the Anker Radio studio to record a programme in support of the Poppy Appeal.
This was a completely new experience for both Paige and Bohdan who had never been on the radio before, however it didn’t take long for the presenters Rob & Wolfie to make them feel at home. As well as the interview for the evenings programme, short sound-bites promoting both the Poppy Appeal and the Air Cadets were recorded for use within other transmissions that were being scheduled for broadcast during the run-up to Remembrance Day.
Following the interview, Flt Lt Paul Hincks, Officer Commanding 121 Squadron said, “It’s been a brilliant opportunity for us to raise the profile of both the Poppy Appeal and the Air Cadets. Paige and Bohdan did us proud, with confident and interesting responses to the presenter’s questions”.
