The Air Cadet Media Communications team from 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron scooped Four First Place competition Awards during the Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing Field Day at Gamecock Barracks
Against stiff opposition from the other Squadrons within the Wing, the Nuneaton based Squadron won the Wing Media Communications competition, which is based on the unit's participation in public events and media activity during the previous 12 month period.
Keen photographer, Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks from Nuneaton also managed to win both the Staff individual image and the portfolio section of the photographic competition, which was based on a portfolio of three photographs depicting, the First World War & Remembrance. Cadet Atlanta Curless also did extremely well in the Cadet section of the photographic competition managing an extremely creditable second place.
The squadron’s fourth media win came in the media design competition with Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks’s recruiting display taking first place.
121 Squadron will now go on to represent the Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing in the media communications and photographic competitions at the Central & East Regional field day at RAF Halton on the 7th September.
Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks, Officer Commanding 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron said, “I am delighted that we have managed to win this year’s Wing Photographic and Media Communications competitions . Our performance in these competitions is attributable to everyone on the Squadron, not just those who write the articles and maintain the website. Successful PR is a good measure of the performance of an active Squadron which offers its cadets a wide range of activities and gets involved in local community events”.
