The Air Cadet Media Communications team from 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron which came first in six competitions during the 2012 Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing Field Day have finally been presented with their awards.
Presentations for competition winners at the Wing Field Day are traditionally presented by the reviewing officer during the final parade. However in order to minimize the time taken during the final parade only the major trophies were presented on the day
Having missed out on their moment of glory in front of the Wing parade, Flight Sergeant Connor Little, Cadet Kyle Evans and Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks were delighted to be presented with their awards by Squadron Leader Bryan Coats when he recently visited the Squadron.
121 (Nuneaton) Squadron won the following Six competitions in the Media Communications category at the 2012 Wing Field Day:
Cadet Recruitment Stand Design - Cadet Kyle Evans’s model of a Recruitment Stand eventually went on to take second place in the Regional Media design competition
Staff Recruitment Stand Design – Flt Lt Paul Hincks Recruitment Stand presentation also progressed through to take second place in the Staff section of the Regional Media design competition.
Cadet Photographic Portfolio – Cadet FS Connor Little’s set of recruiting photographs went on to represent the Wing in the Regional competition.
Staff Photographic Portfolio – Flt Lt Paul Hincks set of recruiting photographs also went on to win the Regional competition.
Staff Individual Photograph - Flt Lt Paul Hincks individual image went on to take first place in the Staff Photographic competition at Regional level and was also selected for the cover of the 2012 Air Cadet Organisation Annual Report.
Wing Media Communications coverage competition - The Media coverage competition is based on the unit's participation in public events and media activity during the previous 12 month period. Having won the wing competition, 121 Squadron went on to win the Regional Media Communications coverage competition for the second year running.
Following the presentations by Squadron Leader Bryan Coats, Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks, Officer Commanding 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron said, “I am delighted that we have managed to gain so much success again in this years Media Communications and Photographic competitions at both Wing and Regional level. Our performance in these competitions is attributable to everyone on the Squadron, not just those who write the articles, take the photographs and maintain the website. If it wasn't for all our cadets and staff putting in so much effort and taking a pride in everything they do throughout the year we would have nothing to report.
