The cadets from 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron have been doing their bit to start the Christmas season off by providing a helping hand to Santa and filling the air with festive tunes.
On Sunday 10 th December the Band of 121 Squadron turned out to play Christmas carols in support Santa as he invited local people to come down to the Pingles running track in Nuneaton to take part in a sponsored Santa's Mile in aide of the Mary Ann Evans Hospice. Participants were issued with a full Santa Suit or Santa Hat dependant on how much money they had raised thus making it very difficult to spot the real Santa as large numbers of Santa clad fundraisers walked, ran, toddled, hopped, skipped and jumped the Santa's Mile.
Janet Griffin the fundraising manager at the hospice said, “Your commitment to Santa's Mile is really appreciated in our ongoing campaign to raise over £1000 per day from voluntary fundraising”
Flight Lieutenant Ian Crewe Officer Commanding 121 Squadron said, "We're always happy to support the Mary Ann Evans Hospice in any way we can.”
