Cadet Kenneth James, Cadet Cpl Michael Haddley and Cadet Corey Allcock show off their St John Ambulance Youth First Aid badges and certificates after becoming the first cadets on their Squadron to qualify as Youth First Aiders

Cadet Kenneth James, Cadet Cpl Michael Haddley and Cadet Corey Allcock of 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron have been presented with their St John Ambulance Youth First Aid badges and certificates after successfully completing their First Aid training.

The three new potential life savers took their Youth First Aid Course during a week long Air Cadet annual camp at RAF St Mawgan in Cornwall . The course run by Pilot Officer Rosie Robinson and Warrant Officer Keir Hart saw a total of 28 cadets from different units across the Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing successfully complete their training. This was the highest number of First Aid qualifications gained by the Wing in one go, and the first time the course had been undertaken during an annual camp.”

Flight Lieutenant Ian Crewe Officer Commanding 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron said, “ Kenneth, Michael and Corey are the first cadets on this Squadron to qualify as St John Youth First Aiders. One can only hope that they never have to put their training to the test but it's nice to know that we now have these three community spirited young people out there trained and ready to administer First Aid, making Nuneaton a safer place to be”.
