Nuneaton 's Air Cadets who helped their local community Firework event go off with a huge bang were among the charitable organisations to benefit during Nuneaton Lions Cub presentation evening.

The Nuneaton Lions Club has thanked everyone who helped them with the 2011 Civic Bonfire by presenting them with a share of the charitable proceeds from the event.

The Nuneaton Air Cadets, 30 Signals Regiment, St John Ambulance, St Thomas More School , Sea Cadets, Anker Radio and the Carnival Committee all received a share of £3,800 for the help they provided during the Bonfire Night event.

The Lions Cub also presented donations to other charities in the local area that provide supportive services and help to people within the community.

Flt Lt Paul Hincks of 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron who received the Lions Club donation on behalf of the Nuneaton Air Cadets said, “We are always delighted to be able to help both the Lions and the Round Table who jointly organise the Civic Bonfire and receiving such a generous donation will enable us to provide much needed equipment for our cadets.”
