Cadets and staff from 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron were out in force on Saturday evening 8 th November, at Nuneaton 's annual civic bonfire. Members of the Nuneaton Lions Club and the Nuneaton Round Table had teamed up with the borough council to organise the event and the Air Cadets were invited to assist with the Car Parking.
Atrocious weather made it one of the worst nights of the year, but that didn't stop the thousands of firework fanatics from turning out for the firework extravaganza at the Jubilee Centre in Greenmoor Road Nuneaton.
Lions spokesman Richard Chattaway paid tribute to all those Cadets who turned out to support the event, saying: "There were a lot of brave people who came out on what was one of the most terrible nights so far this year, with blustery wind and nasty rain starting just before the event."
Having said that I think we all had one heck of a good time with a good firework display and bonfire but thankfully the big winners on the night will be the local groups and charities who will benefit from the money we've raised."
