The biggest surprise of the 2014 Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing Field Day for 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron came during the final parade presentations, when it was announced that we had Won the Diorama element of the aircraft modelling competition.
Given high standard of the entries in this year’s competition, this is an outstanding result for 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron. Well done to our modellers.
121 Squadron will now go on to represent the Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing in the Diorama element of the aircraft modelling competition at the Central & East Regional field day at RAF Halton on the 7th September.
Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks, Officer Commanding 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron said, “I am absolutely delighted that all the hard work that our modellers have put into their World War One Aircraft Diorama this year has earned them first place in the Wing competition. The entire layout was all their own idea and they have really worked well together. At times the cadets had that much real mud being mixed up to cover their landscape base (and for that matter almost everything else in the room), you would have thought they were digging their own trench. Once again, a brilliant effort, well done to all of the cadets who had a part in constructing this year’s winning Diorama".
