A fine morning for a winning run

Royal Air Force Air Cadets from 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron joined Cadets from other Squadrons from across the Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing as they descended on Bishop Walsh Catholic School in Sutton Coldfield for the Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing Cross Country Championships.

The day started out relatively mild but as the competition got underway things soon warmed up with cadets from 121 Squadron putting in some enthusiastic performances.

All eight of the Squadrons runners did their utmost to battle their way around the gruelling course doing their very best for their Squadron, however it was Cpl Faith Hughes who managed to pull off a blistering performance, winning the Wing’s senior girls race, coming in way ahead of her nearest rivals.

Flt Lt Paul Hincks Officer Commanding 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron said, “I am so pleased with the number of cadets that represented the Squadron today, they all did their very best and no one can ever ask any more than that, a valiant effort by everyone in the 121 Squadron team. What’s even more pleasing and one could say the icing on the cake, we even managed to come home with Winners medal, thanks to the outstanding performance by Cpl Hughes. I would also take this opportunity to thank the members of Squadron staff who went along to transport and support the team".

The cadets from 121 Squadron all gave the opposition a good run for their money and every one of the cadets who came out to represent the Squadron should be congratulated for their efforts and to cap it all off, you all looked good in your new Squadron branded kit”.
