The Band of 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron Air Training Corps fell in behind the Bucks Fizz star Cheryl Baker and the Festival Queen for the Nuneaton Carnival Procession which took place on Saturday 16 June.
The 121 Squadron band joined other community groups, decorated floats and marching bands as they made their way through the flag lined streets. Thousands of onlookers who braved the ever present threat of the next downpour were treated to the Squadrons renditions of many traditional marches and wartime favourites. Thankfully the weather didn't manage to spoil the Carnival Procession which brought a magical splash of summer colour to the streets of the town.
Flight Lieutenant Ian Crewe Officer Commanding 121 Squadron said "The band did a fantastic job. It's not easy marching through the streets in a carnival procession that keeps stopping and starting. We managed to stay dry throughout the procession but unfortunately the heavens decided to open as the band was on its way back through the park to the Squadron HQ and everyone got a good soaking. The main thing is that it stayed dry for all but the very end and weather didn't manage to ruin the event. Every cadet should be justly proud of his or her performance.
