Drummers tap their way to Regional Championships

Following the recent Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing Banner Drill and Band Competitions the young percussionists from the Nuneaton based Air Cadets are all set to represent Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing in the Central & East Regional band competition.

Having won the percussion section element of the recent Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing band competition the drummers from 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron are now preparing themselves for the Regional competition at RAF Wittering on Sunday 4th September.

Officer Commanding 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron Flt Lt Ian Crewe said, "The Nuneaton Squadron band has been at the forefront of music within the wing for many years and I am delighted to see our drummers putting us through to the regional competition again this year.”

He added, “What's even more pleasing is that it's the cadets themselves and especially brothers Cadet Warrant Officer Robert Allan and Corporal Justin Allan who worked together to arrange the routine and train the other drummers who pulled off the winning performance which put us through to the regional championships. I hope they can repeat their success when they compete at regional level in September”
