Nuneaton Teenager, Robert Allan has reached new heights in his Air cadet career, having been promoted to the organisations most senior cadet rank of Cadet Warrant Officer.
Robert who joined 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron Air Training Corps at the age of thirteen, has successfully progressed through the cadet ranks and now joins the list of the privileged few that have held the highest possible Air Cadet rank.
On presenting Cadet Warrant Officer Robert Allan with his new rank slides and Certificate of appointment, Officer Commanding 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron, Flight Lieutenant Ian Crewe said, “It's been eight long years since a Nuneaton based cadet has been promoted to the rank of Cadet Warrant Officer and Robert's promotion is thoroughly deserved.”
“Robert has always been at the forefront of his Squadrons activities, making a significant contribution to the Squadrons band, sporting and community service activities, but it's the ever growing list of his personal achievements during his time with the cadets that demonstrates how much he deserves this promotion.”
“Robert received the St John Ambulance ‘Young First Aider of the Year' Award in recognition of his effective and prompt life saving first aid actions when he came to the assistance of a member of the public. He was appointed Warwickshire Lord Lieutenant's cadet during the 150th Anniversary year of the Cadet Forces, and was also specially selected to attend the Cadet 150 tri-service Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award Residential Course at the Royal Naval College Dartmouth and more recently Robert became one of the first cadets to qualify for the Institute of Leadership and Management Award (ILM) in Team Leading.”
“Having reached the top of the cadet rank structure, it's not the end of the line for Robert, far from it. As the Squadrons Cadet Warrant Officer, Robert will be expected to take on additional responsibilities and assist the adult staff with the day to day running of the Squadron.”
